Our expertise ranges from pilot scale thermal testing to commercial scale thermal processing. We specialise in the thermal treatment of niche, novel, new and and waste products with indirect fired rotary kiln technology. Whether you are developing a new product, producing energy from waste or recycling fouled materials thermally, we can provide expertise and assist with the development of your business. At our thermal testing facility, clients can experiment with a multitude of parameters including:
The HEAT Systems pilot plant can handle a wide variety of process requirements, however, clients can request alterations in order to meet special requirements. .Typical alterations include tube construction material, burner type, insulation and off-gas treatment.
BENEFITS OF TESTING SERVICES
We can process a wide range of materials within a wide range of industries. Here are just a few.
It's possible to extract energy from wastewater sludge in the process of rendering it inert.
Old tyres are a huge environmental problem. We offer tyre pyrolysis trials to customers who need to trial the process.
Despite the huge amounts of energy inside, unused food is typically seen as waste. Gasification trials are available.
Thermal processing provides an attractive solution for the responsible disposal of medical waste.
Waste plastics of all kinds are full of high value energy. This energy can be extracted through the thermal breakdown of the plastic.
Wood and biomass can be thermally treated as a value-add process to create carbon based fuels and fertilisers (biochar). Wood drying is also possible.
We offer carbon regeneration services with fully customisable process parameters so you can improve your carbon activity.
Oil Extraction - various organic and inorganic materials are laden with valuable oils. Thermal processing is an effective way to extract them.
Activated carbon is a high value commodity produced from several different feedstocks. You can trial a new feedstock here.
MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE
The recovery of fuel sources from municipal solid waste is a key objective in the circular economy. Thermal processing will be at the core of this recovery.
The HEAT Systems pilot plant is an indirect fired horizontal rotary kiln
The HEAT Systems pilot kiln is an indirect fired rotary kiln designed and built for thermal trial applications. The kiln has a capacity of up to 12kg/hr. It has been designed to process a wide range of waste materials for various processes. The kiln has operating temperatures of up to 1,000 degrees celsius. The HEAT Systems R&D team are available to make alterations based on customer requests.
